Schreiner University’s Special Collections Department contains thousands of books, documents, photographs, student theses, and artifacts, with specific relevance to the Texas Hill Country.

We are working hard to increase the accessibility and awareness of our collection.

Our collection includes:

  • Limited-time donations from generous individuals, such as illuminated manuscript leaves (pages from a book) written in vibrant colors, including writing in actual gold, on parchment and vellum
  • Books about outlaws of the Hill Country
  • German immigrant roots in the Hill Country
  • Civil War era pamphlets
  • Rare books about Sam Houston
  • Birth, death and marriage indexes
  • Almanacs Hill Country authors, and much more.
